Queen’s celebrates the life and contributions of Dr. Alfred Bader

Dr. Alfred Bader and his family have been strong supporters of Queen’s University, Chemistry, and the Arts for many years. In honour of the 100th birthday of the late Dr. Bader, alumnus of Queen’s Chemistry and avid art collector, the Queen’s Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society hosted Bader Philanthropies, including Daniel Bader (pictured), for a event celebrating his life and legacy at Queen’s on November 18th, 2024.

NFK fabricated a gold-patterned silicon wafer for the event, displaying Bader’s photo, a self-portrait of his favourite artist Rembrandt, and a structure of the first chemical in the catalog of Aldrich Chemical Company, which he co-founded. The framed wafer was presented to Daniel Bader by NFK manager Graham Gibson.
